Well, I am coming up on my year long goal of 52,000 push ups. Currently I am at 49,901 or 95.96% of the way there, about two weeks to go. It's been interesting trying to make sure I hit my weekly quota throughout the year, with trips, sickness, oversleeping, general lethargy types of things getting in the way. But, I always made sure I tried to plan a head (like when I got the family snip) or catch up (like when I had the flu). Overall, it's been a fun experience. Now I am starting to think about what to do for the next year. Right now I am starting to pick up more and more on pull ups. I do 200 a week (100 on two different days). So there might be something there. Haven't decided on what yet.
Aside from just the push ups, I am planning on completing 2 half marathons this summer. My goal is to finish at 7:45 per mile or better. I am hoping to get into the top 10% for all runners and in the top 20% for the men's group. In addition to all that I am hoping to do the Super race for the Spartan race this summer. Then next year I'll need to do the beast to complete the trifecta. Then I will have a super cool medal! Woohoo!!!
Lastly, I have picked up a new addition in my work outs, hitting the heavy bag. I do it twice a week for 45 minutes each time. Full sweats and go for the whole time. Makes for some good sweat! Also, helps augment some running and gives my knee a rest.
Well that's the brief update for this time. I'll report back on the finish! Go Bucky!!!

Home Stretch!
Hi All. It's been awhile since I last blogged about my push ups, but that does not mean I have not kept up on them. Currently I am almost 89% of the way there. Out of all the things I am doing from a fitness stand point the push ups have become the easiest. I am trying to incorporate more pull ups into my routines now as well. Also, I picked back up hitting the heavy bag. I use to have one in my home 10 years ago, then started doing other things. I realized they have one at the Y so I have started using that. It's a work out that goes quickly. Last Tuesday I grabbed my gloves and did 15 minutes on it and the time just flew by. Then on Thursday I decided to go 45 minutes and that went quickly as well. Throwing on some tunes and hitting the heavy bag in sweats was a nice change of pace.
Big week this week for my men's league rec basketball team, we are in the quarter finals of our playoffs against the second best team in the league. It will be tough, but if we can limit turn overs and play some sound defense we can win. Last week was a good win, down 9 with 3 to go we came back to tie it and to win in overtime.
Have the Cellcom half marathon coming up in May. Looking to try to finish in the 7:30-7:45 min per mile range. My training has me there already so I'll keep pushing it and hope the adrenaline can take me through to the finish.

Update!
All I have not blogged in a while, been super busy! I have been keeping up on the pushups though. Currently at 78% of the way through. Over 40k done since I started this. Keeping a good pace to hit 52k in the year time frame. Also running has been going well. I ran 8.3 miles last Saturday at a 7:36 per mile clip. Now I need to push that to 13 miles and I will be right were I want to finish in the Celcom!
